Spousal Sponsorship – Citizenship and Immigration Canada

without comments

I recently got married and sponsored my wife to come to Canada as a permanent resident.  The motivation to share such personal info on the web is to talk about my experience in dealing with Citizenship and Immigration Canada.  Overall, I would say the experience was good. There are few quirks you may have to [...]

Display hidden files in Finder

without comments

Being a web developer (mainly as a hobby) I find it annoying at times not to be able to see hidden files in Finder. I just bumped on this nifty widget for Dashboard that allows you to toggle the visibility of hidden files.  Go here to download –> http://www.apple.com/downloads/dashboard/developer/hiddenfiles.html

Open letter from RIM employee to senior management

with one comment

I am a huge BlackBerry fan and will continue to remain loyal to RIM until they go out of business, which may have sounded absurd even a year ago.  Wish I could say it’s just as absurd these days, but clearly it isn’t.  While looking for BlackBerry 99xx (slated for release sometimes this year) I [...]

Tintin – Finally coming to North America

without comments

When I came to North American about a decade ago, I was disappointed to see that the continent is almost unaware of Tintin and still it is the same.  But things are about to change.  It’s not a news to most people now that Steven Spielberg’s movie, The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the [...]

IIFA – Toronto 2011

without comments

It’s IIFA weekend in my city and being a person with a deep seeded connection with Indian cinema (a.k.a Bollywood), I am really thrilled to see the excitement in Toronto surrounding Indian culture and Bollywood. This is what Canada is all about – celebrating diversity and multiculturalism. From prime time news channels to premier news [...]

Fur trade – Evil all the way

with 2 comments

Any human being who fancies fur peeled off an innocent, helpless and unsuspecting animal is a sick, degenerate prick.  Just watched this video and it is so gruesome that I was about to start hating the Chinese for the rest of my life.  But after I calmed down a bit, I realized that any @$$hole [...]

Problem @ hand You have an ASP .NET page with three tabs rendered using jquery-ui.  Every tab has its own Submit button that causes a post back.  You finished working on the first tab, you’re happy.  Then when you are about to feel great about the second tab as well, you see that after a [...]

I got me a Twitter account

without comments

Not that I need to tweet or see any reason why an average person needs twitter … but I had to create an account JUST so that I could follow my most favorite celebrity EVER .. Juhi Chawla (L).

This makes me wonder

without comments

A “classic” init call (“initialization”) to void ResumeBlogging(string mood)… by posting a link and writing nothing. (sarcasm meter melts at this point) But this stuff is cooler than anything I have seen in 2011. http://www.fastcodesign.com/1662831/how-one-engineer-redesigned-an-ancient-greek-mechanical-computer-out-of-legos?partner=homepage_newsletter
