As all of India is getting ready for the festive season, I have my cousin sitting in the eastern most edge of India as an officer in the Indian Army. He is more than a brother to me and this is the first time I realized how much sacrifice soldiers and their family members make for the nation. Their sacrifice often goes unnoticed and people tend to take it for granted. Sure they get paid for it but they could have chosen other lucrative professions and made more money in due process. My cousin is a medical doctor and could have had a flourishing career in private practice had he not joined the Army Medical Corps.
I always had great respect for men and women in uniform and now that respect grew at least 10 times larger. If you are reading this post, you should take a moment and think about the soldiers of your country and pay a silent gratitude to them.
